ANDREAS ANTONSEN, EKSPEDISJONSREISER NORWAY

"Dawa Tashi Sherpa was a guide in one of our groups to Everest Basecamp and Island Peak in November 2018. The group consisted of 8 people all from Norway. Mr Dawa quickly took the lead role and became part of the group. Mr Dawa led the group without any problems, and everybody always felt secure about his leadership style and decisions"

ANDY MOORE, EVERTREK

"Over the last 2 years EverTrek have run numerous treks and expeditions in the Nepal region of the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp, Island Peak and other destinations. We use many trekking and mountains guides, but Dawa Tashi Sherpa has always been our head guide. Not only a massively experienced and knowledgeable mountain and trekking guide but also a great guy too.

It’s clear that Dawa commands a lot of respect in the mountains and it’s noticeable that the other trekking guides and climbing guides really do look up to him. I have personally led 2 treks to Everest base camp with Dawa as our guide and he was fantastic. Our customers have only great things to say about him and seeing how he works with our customers, they not only like and respect him but they also feel safe with him as their guide.

Although Dawa has worked for us on some of our expeditions, I’ve also got to know Dawa on a more personal level. The way in which he is dedicated to his family and his wife and 2 sons is amazing. He always looks to support others, and this says a lot about the type of person he is.

Massively inspiring, a superb communicator and a great leader. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dawa as a mountain guide, climbing guide or as an expedition leader."

"Dawa was Sirdar for our trek to Everest Base Camp in April 2018. We were very impressed with his leadership skills, his experience and knowledge of the terrain and the challenges we would face, and how to deal with them. He is the sort of person that gives you great confidence and we had no hesitation in following his advice. I have no doubt that we enjoyed our trip a great deal more because we were fortunate to have had Dawa guiding us. We saw ample evidence in other parties of what can happen if you do not have a capable guide. Dawa is the best."

JAGGED GLOBE EXPEDITION

"During the months of October and November 2013, I was the leader of a Jagged Globe expedition to climb Pokhalde and Imja Tse with 12 clients and then Lobuche with 10 clients. Dawa Tashi Sherpa was one of our guides and throughout the expedition he was very confidence-inspiring and showed himself to be not only a strong and safe guide, but also very professional, with a very high degree of technical skills and knowledge. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about climbing and about the mountains of Nepal. This was very evident to all of the clients, who all liked him very much and were very happy to trust him. He was also very enthusiastic about learning more and gaining even more skills in future. I have no reservation in recommending Dawa Tashi Sherpa. I would be very happy if I get the opportunity to work with him again."

CCTV NEWS

"Dawa Tashi Sherpa shared his incredible survival story and also worked as interpreter and guide with me for a special CCTV News report on Nepal’s Sherpa climbing community after two tragic years – the Khumbu Icefall avalanche in 2014 and the the April 2015 earthquake. His own experience surviving the 2014 avalanche and his determination to overcome odds since his childhood is both inspiring and admirable. His respect and sensitivity helped us access many locals in the Khumbu region who shared their stories with us. I would recommend him as a guide and capable person to manage your trip in Nepal."

EMILIE VAN WIJNBERGEN, UK

"With a team of 5 students we visited Nepal in the summer of 2015. In order to learn about local building techniques and see some of Nepal’s beautiful nature we went on a mountain trek from Sindhupalchowk, Langtang to Dhunche with Dawa Tashi Sherpa and his team as our guides. The trek was very impressive and well-organised. The crew brought us to small mountain villages, mysterious forests and holy lakes in the midst of the mountain peaks.
The sherpa’s were very friendly, helpful and funny. Dawa and his team were always taking great care we would drink and eat well, and take enough breaks to cope with climbing at high altitudes of 4600 m. For most of us this was the highest we had been in our lives. We all look back to a very successful trek, thanks to Dawa Tashi and his Sherpa team!"

"In November 2015 I traveled to Nepal and met with Dawa Tashi to trek around Pokahara…..we were unfortunately caught in the petrol blockade so Dawa arranged with his friend a great tour around Kathmandu….I saw many beautiful sites and temples and monasteries….I learned much about the Buddhist beliefs……I am an amputee and when fuel became available we went to Pokhara and modified my tour to fit my abilities and time schedule….we went to Sangarkot and the International Mountain Museum…We also had a beautifully arranged visit to Phewa Lake……The bus ride was amazing and the scenery not to be missed….Dawa Tashi was an excellent guide and I felt like he cared for me as an individual as well as a friend….I became close to his family also and learned much about their life and culture….I would highly recommend his skills and compassion to anyone wanting an adventure in Nepal….His honesty and caring is unparalleled…."
